Overview

The Page content block displays the main content of a selected Shopify page inside a section.

It allows you to reuse existing page content (created in Online Store → Pages) and control its layout, typography, alignment, and appearance directly from the Theme Editor.

This block is ideal for:

  • About us pages

  • Policy pages (Privacy, Refund, Terms, etc.)

  • Long-form content pages

  • Reusing the same page content across multiple templates

Where to use this block

You can use Page content in sections that support blocks, such as:

  • Page templates

  • Product or collection templates (for additional content)

  • Landing pages and custom layouts

How to add this block

  1. Open the Theme Editor

  2. Navigate to a section that supports blocks

  3. Click Add block

  4. Select Page content

  5. Choose a page from the Page setting

The block will automatically render the content of the selected page.

How content works

The Page content block:

  • Pulls content directly from a Shopify Page

  • Displays the page’s full HTML content (headings, paragraphs, images, lists, etc.)

  • Does not require adding text blocks manually

⚠️ Important

  • If no page is selected, the block will not display any content

  • Content must be edited in Online Store → Pages, not inside the block

Typography

Font size scale

Controls the overall text size relative to the theme’s base typography
(50% – 150%)

When Custom is selected, you can choose a custom color value.

Truncated text (Read more)

The Page content block supports optional truncated content for long pages.

Enable truncated text

When enabled:

  • Content is limited to a fixed visible height

  • A Read more button appears to reveal the full content

Settings

  • Visible height
    Height (in pixels) shown before truncation

  • Read more button label
    Text for the expand button (e.g. “Read more”)

💡 Best used for:

  • Product descriptions

  • Long policy summaries

  • Intro text that expands on demand

Appearance

Background

  • Enable background

  • Background color (supports transparency)

  • Corner radius

This allows the page content to appear inside a styled container.

Padding

Controls spacing inside the block:

  • Top

  • Bottom

  • Left

  • Right

Useful for separating page content from surrounding blocks.

Tips for best results

  • Use Page content for long or reusable content instead of duplicating text blocks

  • Keep page content structured with headings (H2/H3) for readability

  • Use truncated text for long pages in product or collection templates

  • Preview both desktop and mobile layouts before saving

Common mistakes

Nothing shows on the page
→ No page selected in the Page setting

Text is too wide or hard to read
→ Use Custom width or adjust alignment

Content looks too long
→ Enable Truncated text and add a Read more button

Trying to edit text inside the block
→ Page content must be edited in Online Store → Pages

Limitations

  • Content cannot be edited directly inside the block

  • Styling applies to the block container, not individual page elements

  • Some page-specific scripts or embeds may behave differently depending on layout

Common use cases

  • About us page section

  • Privacy / Refund policy embedded in product pages

  • Long-form brand story with “Read more”

  • Editorial content reused across multiple templates

Need help?

If content is not displaying as expected:

  • Make sure a page is selected in the block settings

  • Check the page content in Online Store → Pages

  • Verify width, alignment, and padding settings

  • Preview on both desktop and mobile before saving
